Humber Hawk parts for sale
Well, another winter has taken its toll and it’s finally time to concede that the Humber won’t be raising phoenix like from the ashes after all…
So before the brambles start to take over again, we’ve been carefully removing any parts that are still in good nick.
The following parts are now up for sale. Please contact us to discuss prices and postage. I have photographed the parts and will try my best to describe their condition but please feel free to ask questions by email at enquiries@gitelajonchere.com or telephone 0033 (0)4 73 52 60 95
Front Left and Right Grills
These look in pretty good condition, I’ve polished up the chrome on one of the grills, there are a few marks but otherwise it has cleaned up well.
Front Central Grill
The chrome has some rust spots and is a little tarnished but otherwise in good condition, no dents. Some rusting on the back.
Bonnet Pull Handle
Lovely original pull handle, intact and in good condition. Tiny chips in the finish on the left hand side.
Dashboard
Whole unit or seperate parts, including central section with speedo etc, lower section with sliders for vents, glovebox
Lights
Sidelights, parts of rear light units, headlamps
Trims for windows

I think it may be a OHC Mark VI Hawk. The MkV still had the smaller, horizontal rear lights, and the sidevalve engine (my dad had one back in the 1950′s). Hope this helps.
Sorry, I meant overhead valve (OHV), not OHC!
For three reasons, I think it unlikely that anyone would take this on as a restoration:
1. Judging by the amount of sag forward of the front doors, it looks as if it may have some serious chassis issues. These Mark VIs were the last of the separate chassis Hawks and, like many such cars of the era, not exactly well rust-proofed!
2. It looks as if it’s been standing in your field for several decades and may well have lost its original registration number, unless a new owner is happy to do battle with the DVLC.
3. Restoring the leather interiors on these can be as costly as doing the bodywork and this one looks as if it needs quite a bit of work.
All is not lost, however, because it might make sense for you to contact one of the Humber owners’ clubs and offer it as a spares car. I hope this helps.
